Hi,
came across this 1937D RPM-001 in a recent Lincoln Penny lot I purchased at auction (Rago/Toomey 11/15/2023).

Do you think it is also a DDR-001, which is associated with the RPM-001 (VarietyVista link below)?

http://www.varietyvista.com/01a%20L...7DDDR001.htm

It is in good shape, and I was thinking of submitting it for grading for myself, or maybe sell one day? Any thoughts on which grading company might be best?

NGC only recognizes the 1937D RPM-001, not the DDR-001 and PCGS doesn't recognize either variety for this date as far as I can tell.

Do you think it is best to use one of these grading companies, or a company that recognizes both varieties, like ANACs?

thanks,
Mike

Nice find, but the value of a coin before it should be graded is about $150.00 to make it worth it. If you want it graded for a 'just because' reason, then I would go with the low cost ANACS for that purpose.

ANACS recognise the both. You has to send with the specification of what you look for. When I send to them I like to put real variety no, but some time I just wrote RPM, DDO or DDR and they do the work. Another it is VSS which will certify your variety and it is recognised by all major grading compagnies. No the question it is the grading fees versus coin market value.

to the CCF Nice twofer. Copper coins lists it at $40.00 in 65. Don't think it would be cost effective to grade.
