Guys we all seems to be looking for Lincolns' with a double version, but I am curious to what style ear is on this coin. I am not able to find any info.
First, I pull up Variety Vista for that denomination. Not to look at the doubles, but to refer to the Design Varieties tab. Dr. Wiles and his team have a pretty thorough visual catalog of the major design changes over the years for both obverse and reverse. They do this for mint marks as well. All denominations and year ranges. Very useful. Sometimes there are oddities that are noted by colored text right in the design changes catalog.
Second, I pull up the PCGS page for that specific denomination, year, mint mark. From there, I head straight to the image catalog of TrueView coins. I zoom in on that coin feature, put it side-by-side with pictures of my own coin, and scroll through to compare it against many different MS-grade examples.
You're welcome. Happens all the times when I'm coin roll hunting nickels. You get a weird doubling or other feature, no mention of it anywhere, but half the time it's on the Variety Vista design pages.
