Other than ebay where else can one list coins to sell. I have had some success on this forum yet I am sure there are other possibilities where you can pass value to buyer not the auction site. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Personally, I am 99% done selling on ebay. I will still buy, but will find other avenues to sell. They have grown excessively greedy IMO. I love to offer coins for sale here at the CCF. I would much rather offer them for sale here (my other family ) as opposed to ebay with all the ridiculous fees. As far as other non-fee sights, there is always Craigslist which I avoid for personal reasons.

I had a really bad experience with ebay last month and am done buying there for a while anyway. Selling on the various coin forums like CCF is a good bet.

I don't like ebay either, after all the fees and postage it's not really worth it. Case in point is the poor sap that just sold me 3 OBW solid rolls of Memorials, I paid him a total of $16 including shipping. It cost him %7.76 to mail the rolls, then take away the fees, his time and trouble and gas to drive to the PO....he barely made anything on the deal.

Craigslist is becoming a sorta good avenue, although most times people are only looking for either extremely rare coins or no-spot bullion.
Still, it's a way to get rid of a few coins. But, you also have to watch out for the multitude of scams there.

Quote: It cost him $7.76 to mail the rolls, Well, that's his own fault really. You can put 10-15 rolls in a small Priority Flat Rate box for $4.80 anywhere in the US and Puerto Rico. Susan just shipped an almost 5 lb lot in one yesterday.

I know here on the CCF people are very responsive when prices are lowered... ;)
On a serious note, it's also gotta be a tough time to sell in general. Lots of people have been feeling the squeeze economically in the US and abroad. That's resulting in a lot of quality stuff becoming available, as people decide to part with stuff in the tough times, but the number of buyers who can afford to buy in that pool may be a little smaller than usual... Dunno just free-associatin' here probably way wrong--

You can try several avenues...ebid.net....coinbug.com...ecrater.com...ioffer.com...I have had some success with each of these. The only problem is limited exposure versus ebay, the positive is low or no fees, and in some of these-like coinbug-your browsers are looking for coins! Good luck.

Any thoughts will be appreciated. There is one other place not mentioned. However, this depends on where you live usually. Coin Shows. Of course the problem with this is you need a substantially decent amount of coins to sell to pay for a table space and the money required to get there. Another problem is in the popularity of those coin shows. In my area they are excessively popular lately and even more so now than ever in the past for some reason. From what some have posted in some areas not much buisness at all. To sell a coin at a coin show to a dealer is a poor choice but if you acted as a dealer, fairly decent. Of course there is always selling coins at a flea market. Usually not to much cost to set up a spot and you could also throw in lots of junk from your garage of basement.
