*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark to Title. It's very important to have in the title. ***

Yes a fun find but there is no numismatic premium for this. I'd probably keep it in a 2x2 for safekeeping if I found it.

Private companies take coins made for circulation and color paint them after they leave the mint to sell, make money. They are a novelty, for some people fun to have but won't be worth what they pay for them. I have a colorized Tennessee quarter with Elvis painted on it. My mom bought it for me years ago, don't know what she paid. American Silver Eagles get colorized too. My local coin store won't pay any extra for colorized Silver Eagles, just normal offer price. Some collectors will soak colorized Silver Eagles in acetone to get rid of the paint.

However, the US Mint has released a collectable colorized coin, the 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame silver dollar and half dollar. Other government mints have released collectible colorized coins, not meant for circulation.

Here is my Elvis quarter. Some have sold on ebay for a few dollars including shipping fee.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I had no idea that this was being done.
Good to know.

Agree 100% with John1. The colourization of coins after they leave the mint add no numismatic value. This doesn't stop sellers charging extra, or calling them rare.

I often see these types of quarters at coin shows. I actually like the looks of them, but I'm not willing to pay much for them. I'm thinking maybe less than $40 for the complete 56 coin set?
