Does anyone know the cumulative sales figures for the First Spouse bronze medals? I'm assuming those numbers are difficult to come by, since the medals were sold across several product options (individual medals, yearly sets, dollar and medal sets). I believe some were included in Coin & Chronicles sets, as well. They might be in the Mega Red Book, but I don't have one handy.

Mods, please move to the correct forum if necessary. In searching for similar posts, it seemed that this forum had the most posts about First Spouse medals.

You could contact US Mint customer service and ask. I recall reading a post where someone wanted historical mintages for something. The mint told them after a certain time the mint sends their records to another government agency, maybe the National Archives or similar. So the person had to contact that agency. I don't know if researching records is done for free or if there is a fee. I cannot confirm this is true, just what I read.

Thanks for the suggestion, @livingwater! I contacted the Mint and received a similar response:

Information on First Spouse Bronze Medals can be found at First Spouse Medals Program. The cumulative sales figures can be found at Cumulative Sales Figures by searching First or Spouse.

Unfortunately, we do not have the information you requested regarding the cumulative sales for prior years in our current records. Surviving United States Mint records from that time period have been retired to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) under Record Group 104 and are under its jurisdiction for access and use. You may contact NARA directly through its Web site at https://www.archives.gov. You might also be able to find this information in "The Official Red Book: a Guide Book of United States Type Coins," by Q. David Bowers, or in other publications in the Official Red Book Series.

Anyone else have any information?
