It's been quite awhile since I've posted. I hope all are well this holiday season. I am curious if any bill collectors can help me with this one. I was gifted a small collection of bills and coins and this bill was mixed in the lot. Not sure if it's the real deal or not. Any ideas on how to authenticate?

It's a popular reproduction and it's listed on the Crutch Williams website. Here's a link to the website- http://www.crutchwilliams.com/Bogus...#Continental

Thank you Steve in Tampa. I figured as much but it's good to hear from the experts. Thanks for the link.

It is hard to tell from the pic. If you have a microscope you should see some very fine blue threads or Mica chips. Reprints and or forgeries of this particular note tend to be a yellowish color. This next one is almost always a dead giveaway, is the hand written portion of the note the same color as the printed portion? If yes, then you have either a reprint or forgery. The newer reprints of this note have the word "facsimile" in very small print on one of the borders. The reprints all of the way to the end of the 1960's did not have the word "facsimile" printed anywhere on them, and often are mistaken as a authentic note from said Era.

Thanks for the info Scottypockets79. Definitely appears to be a reproduction. It's listed on a site for known forgeries. I have forwarded my photos to the webmaster of the site to use as a reference.
