Mint marks were hand punched into each working die till 1990 so placement will vary. Yours are with in mint tolerance.

Back in the day, mint marks were struck by hand, so positioning can (and does) vary. Not uncommon to see differences.

I have a "sub-collection" of coins with Mint Marks touching the date.
To me they are keepers.

The mint mark needs to be actually touching the number for it to be a keeper.
