Can someone give me an idea on whether it would be wise or not to have this slabbed? Thanx

No, do not slab, your coin is common as I have a few examples myself. The '82 D copper is the rare one.

Agree with rejector... The coin pictured was minted in Philly.

It's a normal, circulated Small Date 1982 P cent. It's only worth face value, so slabbing it would be a waste of time and money.

What is the motivation to slab such coins?

You have an everyday 1982 small date cent minted in Philadelphia. There are billions of these. Value is 1 cent.

Only a coin in high mint state would be worth even thinking about. This coin looks to be AU.
