Another TOUGH 82 to find clean and low on hits. Pics don't do this one justice, I've never seen one like this, it has a deep, darkish red color. It stood out like a sore thumb! The "marks" you see are due to strike weakness.

The two I've posted came from very well stored, tight OBW rolls. Some of the best rolls of Memorials I've ever purchased.

One more interesting thing....this coin show why the lowered the relief on the shoulder.

Can you elaborate? Does the shoulder sometimes weaken the letters on the other side?

Thanks, Thad. Does it do it on some coins after 1982? And can it cause the "o" in "of" to be almost non-existant (1982, and/or after 1982)?
