Hello I'm new but I think I'm getting the hang of the grading system. Would I be close to say this is a VF-XF grade? Or would I be wrong. They are in my scrap pile currently. *** Edited by Staff to clarify topic title. Please put as much info in the title as you can, they are very important. ***

To me this is not a scrap coin, and is a better date within the Peace series, and has a Denver mintmark at that. Grade: around AU-55ish or thereabouts Est. PCGS retail value: $115.00 Conclusion: is not a scrap coin in my opinion

Oh nice I would have sold it for $23 without a second guess & thank you, guessing since I was wrong on that one I'm wrong on most of the ones I'm scrapping so I'll post them as well on the thread just in case lol. I appreciate your help.

Photos posted are a tad soft. With that, I'd see the piece falling in the mid-to-high AU range. Large and crisp photos would help us narrow things down. Thanks.

That is definitely not junk silver. I would say it is in the AU range. It is worth a lot more than junk silver price. that is a well struck coin and has much detail left.

Just a note: $115 is for a coin in a PCGS holder not a raw coin. John1

If it had some luster I'd be at 55 but as is AU-53.

Peace dolllars are challenging even for seasoned collectors to grade. you need to look at a lot of slabbed ones and guess the grades before looking at it.

@IndianGoldEagle It has quite a bit of luster which actually leads me to think its been polished.

From the original pictures I say mid AU. The last picture has too much glare and not sharply focused to assess correctly.
