My 501st Post Giveaway Contest - The Shiny

Thanks for the nudge John1, I had no idea this world even existed on CCF. I wasted my 500th trying to be comical.

Guess the combined weight of these two pickers and they are yours! Your very own Montana gold extracted from its 100M year old grave with the help of a metal detector.

- Three guesses per member - no post edits.
- Guess must be to the 2nd decimal place
- Anyone nailing the reference coin year AND the individual weights will receive a 3rd picker.
- Clue: the last digit is not a 0 for the combined weight
- EDIT: To make this fair to early participants. If no one has guessed an exact combined weight by 8PM MST on January 21st I will select the closest combined weight guess as the winner (earliest).

Assuming you can figure out what the reference coin is, here is a little tool that may help with mass calculations.

https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/gold-weight

And yes, I picked the ugliest of my ugly pile as the visual aide.
Apologies up front to our foreign friends but I'll only ship for free within the US.

Best of luck.

EDIT: Just looking for the combined weight of the pickers - you do not need to consider the weight of the coin. It is only provided for sizing estimates. If you guess the coin year and the individual weight of each picker, you get a 3rd. If someone gets the combined weight correct but the coin year, or individual picker weights is wrong, we have a winner and contest is over.

The coin is a victoria bun head one penny. I'm guessing the flakes are 7 millimeters long together by 3 wide and 3 thick. I'm guessing gold flakes are 91.7% fine since they are different from nuggets. The coin weighs 9.45 g without that hole. I guess the flakes weigh 1.11 ounces (edit meant to say 1.11 grams for the flakes). My combined weight guess is 10.46 grams. I guess the coin year is 1891.

Just looking for combined weight of the pickers

Are you looking for two separate guesses, or just one guess that is the combined weight of both gold pieces?
