I agree with your assessment; the extra bar on the 2 shows nicely, and I see several of the die gouges on the reverse matching up. Another nice find!

There are some fairly clear die markers for this one... if you think you have it, check for them and post some clear close ups of those specific markers. I can't tell with pics provided. From: https://www.doubleddie.com/384301.html: 1972 1¢ WDDO-013 Description: A strong CW spread shows remnants of an extra horizontal bar of the 2 in the date well above the normal horizontal bar. The variety shows the master die doubling known for this date on LIBERTY and IGWT. Die Markers: Obverse: Several die scratches extend WNW from the rim below the right side of the bust with one of the stronger scratches being below the D and B of the designer's initials. Several die scratches extend ESE from the rim above IN and WE. Reverse: A small die gouge can be found to the right of the top of the 2nd A in AMERICA. A small die gouge (dot) can be found to the right of the base of the last Memorial column. A small die gouge (dot) can be found north of the F in the designer's initials. Two small die gouges can be found between the lower O and N of ONE.

The biggest problem with this situation, is that the listed coin is also showing strong MD and I think that is what everyone is looking at. You may have the doubling shown on the WDDO-013 but your area is hidden with verdigris. Below is a marked up pic of WDDO-013 to show what I'm talking about. Wexler has a blue arrow pointing at the doubling, it's out in the field, separate from the date and I've also circled it in red. All of the yellow arrows are pointing at Machine Doubling.

Not surprised, I debated as MD but thought I'd take shot.
@makescents is right it might still be there. I'm going to have another look with a better lighting setup. I'll let you guys know if I find anything.
Thanks for the responses!
