In case it's helpful, I've attached images of an area suggested by Spence and Dearborn (E dot P), and a couple of other images. Also, There is no attributed DDR that I could find for a 1951-D. Just in case it's a new DDR, is there a process for assessing a possible new variety you know of? Something maybe that will allow me to get a designation upon ANACS grading? Also, do you think there is another mintmark on this coin, placed way too low, what was corrected to mostly remove it? I see a ghost of a D in an area that is discolored. Is that a thing? Can a die be corrected after a badly placed mintmark, then repunched correctly, and used? I was thinking of maybe putting it in as a new topic, and I'll post an image here.
