I suspended my French Guiana project a couple years ago and just recently brought it out for another try at understanding the coins.
Can anyone post a photo and explanation of the difference between the "Curved Base" or "Oval Base" and the "Flat Base" crown?
I have all, but fail to understand what is "flat" about the crown on an official coin. I see differences among them, but nothing "flat".

Albert, thank you for reviving this topic. I recently bought one (cheap) and never suspected that it may not be genuine. But after reading your thread from 2016, it apparently is a "local imitation". Weight 1.77 g, diameter 22.47 mm, thickness 0.67 mm.

I was in a state of much confusion back in 2016.
I collect non-genuine coins as well as buying genuine coins for comparison.
After finding more recent resources the confusion remains.
I don't see your coin now as a local imitation.
To me local imitations are quite shabby and I have one and probably two.
These are what I consider local imitations:

I see in LeCompte a variety of types with poor pictures and no good explanation of the differences.
I find many quality pictures at cbg.fr, but they have conflicting descriptions and photos of privy marks.

Albert, I forgot to post the link to your earlier thread as it is informative. This would be of benefit to those interested in the topic.

To assist anyone that can offer an explanation, here is a listing from a trusted seller described as a flat base crown. I fail to see what is flat about it.

To further assist, here are my crowns. I'm fairly sure at least two of these are official:
