Sap Moderator Australia 16806 Posts	Posted 01/09/2024 8:25 pm My best guess would be "stage money" or "prop money", for a theatre - something designed to look coin-like from a distance, but not realistically coin-like enough to get the theatre in trouble for counterfeiting if any escaped to the general public. Second-best guess: This one appears to have been looped, for jewellery - so perhaps it was a made-for-jewellery "pirate coin" replica; though those generally make a better effort at trying to look authentic.
