This is about as strong a misalignment as I've seen on a Lincoln Cent, but I have seen a number of them in this general range on different dates.

Very nice Misaligned Die! I think the date could be showing Slide Doubling, which is another form of Machine Doubling. https://www.error-ref.com/slide-doubling/

While the smeared devices do look a lot like slide doubling, I am more inclined to just use the term distortion here. Kind of look at the date and see just how wide those numbers would be if this were normal MD.

As tropicalbats noted, the obverse also shows "slide doubling", a smearing of the design produced when the obverse die lurched back toward the northwest after reaching the lowest point of its downstroke.

Thanks folks! And I answered the "where do I get them all" question in the 195X Lincoln Cent tapered die thread. Short answer is I buy error and variety collections when they come available, and sure I do find some of them, but not in this kind of quantity. This particular coin did not make it into my collection so it goes up on ebay this week. Most of the coins I post go in my collection, but some just aren't what I need yet still seem like something folks would be interested in seeing here.
