tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6108 Posts	Posted 01/08/2024 11:13 pm This is a cool coin, although someone has come along and done us all the favor of harshly cleaning the obverse. Even so, if you can see on the reverse a somewhat linear loss of material occurred pre-strike probably from a lamination/alloy issue. Then during the strike weak spots showed up in a similar pattern across the obverse corresponding to the missing material on the reverse.
