This is a cool coin, although someone has come along and done us all the favor of harshly cleaning the obverse. Even so, if you can see on the reverse a somewhat linear loss of material occurred pre-strike probably from a lamination/alloy issue. Then during the strike weak spots showed up in a similar pattern across the obverse corresponding to the missing material on the reverse. This seems to have caused a rim-to-rim lamination crack to show up on the obverse as well.

The sunken jawline is where it really stands out quickly as an error instead of damage. But yes, always worth looking at those "damaged" coins just a an extra second to be sure they aren't more interesting.
