Okay I'm going to try this again. Finally got the photo resized.
I have several 2022D ManKiller State Quarters. On one of the coins the reverse side is tinted with gold mixed in it.The Obverse side is Silver. Does anyone have information on this? I cannot find any info on it at all. Thanks

To CCF! The reverse looks normal. I'm not seeing any gold toning.

I can't see the gold color either, but it might just be the lighting of the picture. Metals react to environmental variables so it may have acquired a yellowish hue through contact with substances in the environment. Just like a penny starts out shiny and red and then gradually grows brown, coins can have all sorts of reactions of this nature.

Thanks. It is just the camera. I showed my husband when he got home and he definitely knew which one had the gold mixed in it. The coins are mint and Uncirculated. I will try and get a photo of the two of the ManKiller coins together to see the difference. Thanks.

I've had one tone similar from folding it up in some cheap thick paper and then leaving it on my desk for a while. Sulfur in the paper probably caused it. It's cool looking but not actually "gold."

CoinsAreCrazy,

Your coin has no gold mixed in it. It has toned a golden color, some tend to do that. There are some quarters that have been gold plated from companies after they leave the U.S.Mint. They even plate them in silver and platinum.
