jfeed Pillar of the Community United States 1259 Posts	Posted 01/15/2024 12:59 am The 1993 cent has a zinc core and is plated with a very thin layer of copper. The rim, being raised, has more wear when being handled therefor some of the copper is worn off leaving the zinc showing. This is true on the bust and other raised devices which also show some slight discoloration. Just my opinion. Report this Post to the Staff
