Hi all,

Please check out this coin here and any advice or comments are welcome.

Its a 1956-D Jefferson nickel. To me it looks like there is some doubling on MONTICELLO. Looking to see if you all agree or if this is just wear and tear!.

Thanks all.

Yeah, you can see quite a bit of rippling on the fields. That die face is getting worn from striking nickels.

Generally DDD carries no significant premium.

Doesn't look like a Doubled Die there. The nickel coins with a true DDR I've seen are very
dramatic on Monticello. Don't see any listings for a '56-D.

Thanks everyone. I was on the fence at any doubling as well. Thanks for the additional education, I was not aware of DDD or what it meant. Learn something new everyday, love these forums!

Learning to distinguish DDD and MD from true hub doubling is difficult and I often still have problems. To make matters worse, you can have true doubling and MD or DDD on the same coin!
