Was going through some extra proof dimes to start trading. I noticed this one looked to have some doubling on the S. Under my microscope it looks to be tripled. Are there any reports of the S being doubled or tripled on the 72 proof? Sorry for the poor picture but most of my stuff is still packed up from the move.

Some punches get distorted from use. If you look at other coins from that year you will see that the mint mark appears that way on most denominations till they replace that punch. The reason I know this was that I had a roll of OBW cents and they all looked alike even from different dies. I thought I had a whole roll of RPMs, till I realized it was from a bad punch used that year. (May have been from a different year, but the result is the same.)
