Curious as to thoughts on the diagonal hairlines on the reverse. Old cleaning? That said, I like the coin.

I'm at VF-35. I think there is an old cleaning.

@psuman08, I was leaning more towards VF35 myself based on PCGS photo grade. But also have seen other PCGS EF40s that IMO look much worse. While there are a few light dings like above Liberty's head and above the eagles wing on the right, the fields and devices otherwise are much better IMO than many higher graded coins.
I also wondered about a possible old cleaning, but don't see any obvious hairlines to speak of, plenty of faint random lines/ circulation rub (excluding the roller lines)going every which way looking at it with 14x loupe. Cleaned and re-toned or not, for me it has very nice eye appeal. No plans to ever have it slabbed, so will never know what the "professionals" think.
