This coin has an old cleaning, but I still kind of like it. I have a fairly low bid in. We'll see if it goes past me. Can it squeak into a VF25, or is it pretty solidly in the VF20 camp?

I'll say EF-40.

EF-40 with some strike weakness.

I'd like to think you're right, but comparisons I've done with some slabbed examples beg to differ. How bad do you think the old cleaning hurts it? Not too bad on obverse, more noticeable on reverse.

Doesn't look bad at all, I've seen much worse.

this is one series I wouldnt touch. not because I don't think they are awsome but grading is a B_TCH. from what I've seen TPG's have no idea how to handle the strike issues associated with these.

from a sharpness standpoint i'd call it VF35 even XF. from a strike standpoint I can see a TPG calling it VF25

Properly graded this is VF-30, but as others have mentioned there is variation in some TPG mid-grade opinions. The bigger issue to me is the cleaning. It might pass with a straight grade, but with so many problem-free examples I personally wouldn't consider it worth it.

It's all about what it goes for. I like the coin and I'm in, but I have a hard limit. If it passes by me, so be it. There's always another one.

VF-30 Details Cleaned. Can't see any TPG straight grading this with the reverse wipe except PCI.
