Came across this guy. It's completely smooth all the way around the edge and has zero reeds. I was looking for some evidence of maybe of being shaved down somehow but that would leave scratches and would look different than the rest of the coin. Furthermore the rim is thick. Almost like I see you in some nickels. The weigh and diameter are the same as any other silver quarter. If it was shaved off, one would think it would be different in at least one of those aspects. Whatcha think?

Any Dryer Coin I've seen they've had a little bit of a rounded edge to them. This has a sharp edge. That also doesn't explain the thickness of the rim.

Other than it not having reads it's not misshapen in any other way.

In addition there's no wear on the devices. Every single picture in the link that you sent has where on the devices. There is none of that on my coin.

I think that often we use the term " Dryer Coin" to mean mechanical damage from machinery. Depending on what machine and what type of mechanical action there is, the exact details of the damage might vary a bit. This coin def wasn't struck like this so it cannot be a mint error. By way of example, perhaps it was spooned.

I just want to point out that the reeding is still visible on the two edge pictures you posted. It's faint and might feel smooth to the touch, but it's definitely there and has the correct thickness and spacing. For sure it's the result of some type of machine damage.

It's PMD. Not sure how it happened, but it did happen after it left the U.S. Mint.

Your coin is PMD. Whether it was spooned or a Dryer Coin.

Sorry, but your coin has tons of wear. The bottom line is this, this cannot happen during the minting process. No reeds can only happen if the collar is not engaged but then the coin would be broadstruck. Yours is not.

Spooned. Not as much wear as there should be if the reeds are smooth. Dryer would have more wear on the two sides.
