If Silver gets to $50 ozt., I think I will trade out for gold. G/S ratio would most likely have moved back to closer to 60:1by then. Besides, I need to free up some room in my safe. 2k rounds take up quite a bit of space.
P.S. I will keep all the junk silver for barter purposes.

I would certainly sell some at $50. That is not a scenario I see in the near future.

I would definitely be a seller at $50 if it ever happens again.

+100% ROI from current level, it would be wise for one to take some profits. But it fully depends on what catalyst would propel silver to double in value? If Harry Dent, Jeremy Gratham, Robert Kiyosaki, etc. are correct regarding their doom & gloom/armageddon, The Greater Depression, -80% decline in the S&P, -50% in housing... one might not want to sell off their entire hoard & wait for $200 per ounce levels,

Gold has done much better than silver for quite a while. If silver hit $50 oz, gold could go up too keeping their ratio similar. Silver is highly manipulated by the big financial firms traders, the price gets beat down after it's gone up. If silver spiked up quickly it would not stay there for long, in my opinion. I don't do the silver/gold ratio trades, just buy some of each when I want and dollar cost average.

If it gets to $50 (which I highly doubt it will), I would sell a significant portion off. I don't have stacks of Silver and in the scheme of things selling all my bullion doesn't amount to anything in the financial picture, but I could use it to fund a new car purchase. I really like the new Mustang convertibles. Silver for a Mustang

Quote: I don't have stacks of Silver and in the scheme of things selling all my bullion doesn't amount to anything in the financial picture, To be honest, I am in the same position. My collection is relatively modest and has never been a part of my investment strategy — its real value is sentimental. For budgeting purposes I treat my coin purchases as a consumable; once bought, that money is gone. Quote: I really like the new Mustang convertibles. Silver for a Mustang

JBuck, while you and I have the same financial ideals, I do like that coins/currency do have some value and when getting higher cost items, I will sell off items that I lost interest in or I've upgraded. And while I don't upgrade a lot, there are times that I am offered a good price (mostly from other posters and members) that it makes sense. So yes, I don't consider coins as an investment but I do like that they have value.

Because the market & housing would prolly be the reason for the increase, that's why I would trade for gold. GSR is 90:1 right now. That gap should close quickly if the SHTF.
P.S. Stash some junk silver for barter in case the reset takes a while. Can you sat CDBC?

Quote: Silver is highly manipulated by the big financial firms . I hear this said over and over, but no one ever posts any evidence. Hunt brothers in the 1970s, yep OK. Anything since then?
