Finally came across the 2109 Australia Discovery 'U' $1 coin with Die Chip/Cud on the 1st Kangaroo.

Not sure if there is any on the Discovery 'A' and Discovery 'S'.

Also should this be 'Die Chip' or more qualify as ' Cud'?

Have a good day.

Looks like I have a Cud on mine too.
Nothing on the A or S though.

Nice find. I have noodled literally 100s of the "A-U-S"coins and never found a cud/chip on any of them. I did hear that the "U" coin had a chip and that's the first image I have seen of one. Thanks for sharing. Now I have to keep hunting for one for my collection of "odds and sods".

There's a coin for sale on ebay atm that reports to be a 2019 $1 'S' privy with a Cud on the first roo.

Thanks Coaster. That looks to be a strange place for a cud/chip to occur. I can understand how a die may break down and lose metal from areas that are 'convex' or press into the planchet but that is the first time I have seen one in an area that is concave (sorry don't know the technical terms). As far as I can remember the examples I have seen are on the edges of raised parts of the die or thin parts like between feathers on the lyrebird.
Something else for me to look for.

That sucks Sally. I don't even look for them and I get one on my only coin.

I found the Letter 'S' a while ago, but not sure if it qualify as a 'Die Chip'. See pictures under Natural light and Bright light.
