Hello!

As I was looking for more info on this coin, I found some interesting post on this forum. It's fate

I'm researching the coin with this description (from numista): Y#213: Spelled "FIRST YEAR"; large stars and two small stars.
From the same numista page, I see two auction being referenced: https://katzauction.com/lot/147569 and https://katzauction.com/lot/147570. Both have a very similar looking coin, where the E from Provinces has a peculiar mint error:

Manchurian-Provinces-20-Fen-Xuantong-Type-1---Fake?
Manchurian-Provinces-20-Fen-Xuantong-Type-1---Fake?

My coin is very similar to these two in the auction, I will post pics tomorrow.

Do you think the two coins in the auctions above are legit or fakes?

On this particular specimen from the same variery (I think), there is no issue with the E:

Manchurian-Provinces-20-Fen-Xuantong-Type-1---Fake?

On this one from the forum I see a similar issue with the E:

Manchurian-Provinces-20-Fen-Xuantong-Type-1---Fake?

What is your opinion? I'll start the discussion while I post the pics of the coin I found.

Thanks!

Second last photo is my coin.

Would be interested to know what yours weight. These are known to be slightly underweight.

Updating this old thread to share some new findings

I was able to get my coin posted on a Chinese coin forum to ask for info and authenticity (discussion is here: https://www.yy11.com/bbs/topic/2698370.html ).

The general opinion is that the coin is authentic.
