Hi guys, is this a Rare 1934, 4 over 3 coin? The 4 looks a bit suspect

We need a better Pic/Scan to be sure. They are not regarded as scarce any more,it was a Dealer thing up until ebay started when punters realised they are plentiful almost common. Overdated 1934 Coin needs to be around aUnc or higher grade to get reasonable money. After saying that their value for a good coin is still a rollercoaster on ebay, A$10-50.

Now we need a sharp closeup of the date - nothing can be discerned from this soft image.

We'll need a sharp closeup as Coinfrog said.

That looks like a 'wide ornament' eg.,that the the thing to the right of the 4 as you look at the date. There are overdate egs. but extremely rare,99% of 34 overdates the ornament is closer to the 4. I'll post a Pic.,notice ornament close to 4.

Hi Basil, I've read about the rarer variety of 33/34 with the 4 in the narrow 4 position but have yet to see an image of one. Is there a catalogue showing a decent image of one or does anyone have one and could post an image?

I will try and find it and throw up a Pic. but its rough. Edit...found some Pics. I did for the Oz. Forum a while back. On the 2 eg I've seen the 3 sits in a different position to the common/normal OD.

I'll throw up these Pics. whilst I have the Coin out. Another 'wide ornament' with something under the 4.
