Hello... New user here! Occasionally I come across a coin that catches my eye like this quarter. It looks as tho it was lightly struck or possably worn down. The edge has no ridges and the copper shows. It may be nothing special but that's why I'm here. Pictures don't show what I described all that well except for the edge

your out of focus images are difficult to study for any details. But that said, I'll try. With the devices so badly flattened out and the rim gone on the obverse, and the center of the reverse is n the same condition, AND the reeds are missing, I would say that somebody sanded it all down. If you can, please provide a weight of this coin.

@exp, first welcome to CCF. Second, that looks like mechanical damage to me.

Will get some clearer pics and the weight. It does look somewhat like mechanical damage and then it doesn't... To me it doesn't look sanded down or worn just not hit hard enough but again that's why I am here.

Definitely well worn down but it could not possibly have come from the mint in that condition.

Well your coin is underweight. it should be 5.7grams nominal So a sanded down coin is what I think here. but I'll come back for the new better images when they arrive

Yes thx those def better pics. Not a mint error like broadstruck though. Just mechanical damage.

oh yeah, your coins most definitely have been 'reduced' by some sort of mechanical means.. (like sanding)
