Is it feasable/logical to be obtaining PR69 or PR70 S State Quarters or would it be better to obtain graded MS 65 or better of the P & D mints?

Thanks,

Mark

Could be an expensive process doing that either way !......
Are you talking just a select few......all 50 Proofs ?.....all 100 P & D ?

Not all of them, just a select few.

Well.....IMHO......I would say the best value would of course be the graded Proofs or Silver Proofs, and then second the MS.....but if you can land some good deals on doing this.....both would be worth having in your collection.
I would just say to stay away from the "hoopla" of some of the "t.v. coin people" selling "graded St. Qtrs."
Home Shopping Network coin productions are NOT good deals on graded coins period....but espicially the State Qtr. Proof and Uncirc's........if this is your "source" for purchasing....then don't do it. Pursue that interest from other more reliable sources.

first off, and then a small piece of advise...don't rush in to get those quarters off ebay, give the price a chance to settle down. when they first come out, everyone is bound and determined to get those high grades first...and then more dealers have more graded and the prices start to come down. so give it some time....

True.....the "Bubble theory" is often a smart one. The 50 State Quarter Craze is still hot right now and this will settle down and level off in the near future. Now that everybody's Sets are mostly completed, and all of the Proofs, Silver Proofs, and Uncirc. Sets are finally all out now, people will begin looking to sell them in all kinds of ways to make as much money as they can.

Don't waste your money. I bought 12 Proof 69 DMPL PCGS graded State Quarters. I wanted to free up some money for another purchase, so I took them into my local coin store to sell. The guy all but laughed at me and told me there is 0 demand for these things right now because supply is so HUGE. PCGS and NGC are fooling everyone and making their money as the middle man with these things and running registry sets to peak interest. Just like the guys in the gold rush who got rich selling picks, shovels, and other equipment to prospectors who ended up finding no gold.
