Now for a classic coin in bad shape. Circulated for 105 years! Found CRH this afternoon.

Too bad not really any of the horn remaining, but still a really cool find in the wild. Well done @brand.

Congrats! Any buff is a good buff when found in circulation.
If it truly circulated for 105 years, it would probably be about dime size from the wear...

I'll say AG-03, perhaps G-04.

There's enough meat on this one for G-4.

Thanks for the grading, guys. I had guessed it around a 3. The reverse is in considerably better condition than the obverse.
I will try to find it a good home. =)

Better early date Buffalo CRH find than I came across in 382,000 nickels searched - so congratulations. It's an AG03 coin as you know ... but would be a show piece of any CRH collection from 2024. Well found.

Hardly worth much in either grade, unfortunately. Your LCS probably wouldn''t even make an offer. If @nickelsearcher never found anything better than that in 382,000 searches, then he is surely cursed and much older than when he started.

My current record for oldest nickel from change is a 1903 V nickel. I've never found anything older than that yet, nor a Shield nickel either. Oldest "all time" coin for me from change is a lone 1892 Barber dime. I used to stop once or twice a week at an Exxon station near my old job, and I had 2 or 3 rolls of common date 1930s Buffalos sitting around at home, and so I used to pay with one or two of the Buffs alongside all of the modern coins on occasion. Sometimes the clerks would recognize them and ask if they could have/keep one, other times they'd not even merit a second glance.
