Me again, last topic for the day!

Also asking for opinions on this 1967 Kennedy half from Philly. As far as I read it's silver clad (still all silver but less % in a cladded fashion). Do you think this is from a "Special Mint Sets" or just a regular one (pretty common I gather)?

Anything special that your expert eyes see? Appreciate anything you will share!

I'm not a Kennedy half specialist so can't say for sure about the SMS part.

My eyes see a circulated business strike coin that is 40% silver overall; with the cladding being 80% Silver & 20% Copper, while the core is 79% Copper & 21% Silver

This composition for the Kennedy halves was produced 1965 through 1970. All circulation strike Kennedy halves 1971- date are Cu-Ni clad coins and contain zero silver.

cant add much to nickelsearcher concerning composition

the coin appears to be MS. due to the improper storage I would call it MS62. there are a couple fingerprints also. one on the obv at K9 which is very faint between the L and I. on the rev looks like under the olive branch. hard to tell due to the toning/discoloration

Would be interesting to get a closer image of the top bar of the E in Liberty, and particularly the terminating serif. It almost looks split, but it's hard to tell from that overview picture.

Thanks all!

@Brandmeister; I'm not sure I captured what you were hoping to see. Might try again tomorrow with natural light. Let me know what you think so far though!

The coin is clearly MS, it doesn't look pretty bad. There is definitely damage, I can assume that it was cleaned.

a second look at this one and there may have been an improper cleaning where it it wasnt rinsed properly. the reverse is more prominent so update my grade to UNC details (cleaned)
