A public shout-out to our members Spence and Tdziemia. Their successful collaboration has resulted in the article "Survey of the Early (pre-1000 AD) Use of Christian Saints' Names and Images on European Coins" in the recently published volume VI of KOINON: The International Journal of Classical Numismatic Studies. I just finished reading it and, as one would expect of these two fellows, the article is impeccably researched, well written, and quite interesting.

Nice job, Dave and Ted!

That is impressive, fellas. It must be very difficult to find the time and dedication required to have a piece of work worthy enough to be published.

I have a difficult time finding the time even to peruse through this forum.

Well done.

Hey thx for the recognition! It is hard to find extra time for researching and writing, but it is a good thing to do. I enjoy it very much.

I appreciate that. Just submitted my latest effort to Nick a few weeks ago for his consideration for a future volume.

Safe to assume the article had its genesis here at CCF, in tdziemia's saints posts?

Congratulations to Spence and Tdziemia, and thank you Kamnaskires for bringing this to our attention! Now I need an address to send my reprint request card (yes I'm an old academic!).

How fun would it be to be published in the same edition!

Thanks, Bob and others.
Indeed, becoming active on CCF has been a real catalyst for growing a couple of blossoming themes in my collecting.

And Dave saw the opportunity to turn it into something more, and carried it to the finish line!

Would also like to mention Spence's two previous articles for KOINON:

From volume II (2019):
"Numismatic letterforms of 'A' in medieval Europe: A classification system" (co-authored with Marina V. Spenciner)

From volume IV (2021):

Congrats for getting published, sharing your knowledge helping other collectors learn. I takes a lot of time researching, writing, getting it right, proper citations, references...

I had a couple articles published in The Celator before it ceased.

When will you hear if it has been accepted, Bob?

Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, Jim. I heard from the general editor three days ago, saying he "secured a reader" - meaning someone with the appropriate specialization to review it. Keeping my fingers crossed. I published an article in volume one back in 2018. Now, having just (finally!) retired, I wanted to try my hand at it again.

Here's hoping we hear more good news in a couple of week's time.
