Is DDO the new LQQK?

How can there be over 18,000 DDO coins on ebay?
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=ddo&_sacat=0

Has the definition of DDO been expanded?

I would imagine it's because 80 percent of the listings are for coins that are not actually DDO..

There are currently 114 listings for a DDO 1958 Lincoln Cent.

There are three known 1958 DDO Lincoln cents. None were made in Denver.

Yeah, 80% is very optimistic. Based on what I see, it's more like 0.1% are correctly identified as a real DDO. The vast, vast majority are DDO / DDR with RARE Filled Mint Mark Mint Error Doublr Stamped Quarter $599 L@@K.

I agree that my estimate was conservative. How circulation damage becomes a DDO or DDR is mind boggling.

I have collected coins for 50+ years, but not until 2 years ago did I begin to study them and
learn about them..unfortunately before I joined Coin Community forum, my first exposure to
Doubled Dies on coins was on ebay. Not a good starting point, no doubt. So much crap out there,
Fakes, Misdiagnosed errors & varieties and Purposely misleading listings etc.
It is very confusing especially to an uneducated collector.
I think ebay is just getting worse overall.

There's lots of junk on ebay unfortunately. You have to shift through the junk and buy the actual errors and varieties.

I started buying on ebay about 10 years ago. It wasn't too bad back then. Now as stated above, everything is an error or a variety. People not knowing what they have trying to sell to people not knowing anything about coins.

Ain't that the truth.
