pls Rest in Peace United States 1729 Posts	Posted 04/14/2009 1:30 pm I just bought a '64 example of one of these copper coins (oops, silvery-copper) yesterday for a couple of bucks. I love Mexican coins minted between 1943-1992 or so. The 20-centavo coin is my absolute favorite, although the monstrous 50-centavo piece is nice, too. Before reform coinage in '92, for a few years Mexican coins were minted in an obscene amount of pesos. However, being large they also provided almost unlimited opportunities for artwork depicting scenes from Mexico's Aztec, Toltec, and other native cultures for some of the most interesting, historic, and beautiful coinage from any country.
