@mike, that does look like a die chip to me too. Are you buying it specifically for the chip or are you building a SLQ collection? I ask because I'm not sure how deep the collector interest is on older US coins with die chips. Is this coin being sold specifically as a mint error or jsut a nice, circulated quarter?

$30 seems a bit high for a 29SLQ in Fine condition - even with the chip. But if you like it then buy it -
