1956 D LWC Rim Restricted Design Duplication

Checking some oldies and came across what appears to be a rare form of Machine Doubling - rim restricted design duplication. The lower loop portion of the 1956's 6 also appears on the rim.

I think the mark on the rim by the 6 is PMD.

@nyi, this one is a bit above my pay grade, but wouldn't the the doubled six have to be raised on the rim? From the pic, it looks incuse, but maybe that is just a trick of the lighting.

I'm thinking that the mark is PMD.

Your coin is not it, clearly a contact mark on the Rim.

Might not be RRDD but not sure it's PMD either. Some better images this morning. There is clearly 68 years of wear and tear on the coin but IDK what it is. Never heard of a rim clash. Might just be some sort of a one off.

I'm with Spence about it looking incuse.
If so, it seems like a dropped letter might be an extremely small possibility.
