1982fan New Member United States 21 Posts	Posted 02/18/2024 1:19 pm Just wondering if I could get some thoughts on the quarter. The "O" in HOMESTEAD has a tail making it look like a "Q". The tail is actually a big blob, next to a little blob. The "O" has a curve, like a clipped planchet, where the tail is. I included a picture, not rotated, to better show the curve. Pictures aren't all that great, and I apologize I can't get better ones. Please just humor me and take a look #128516; I'm sure it came from the Mint like this, a die dent maybe? EDIT: I see you call it a BLOB but just making sure. IF it is raised then it will be a die chip or die dent/scratch. If incuse then just a dent on the coin itself. Almost a Struck-Through Like struck coin... If it is a " ding ", Would the Apparent direction of the " ding ", Heading North-West, leave a Foot print, in the Incused Area, I can barely see it, and It can be Barely seen Reconnecting Above the Incused Mark, rejoining the Details of the coins Reverse... ( in the Blown up Picture ). I would have Loved, to of seen This coin after it Was Struck!!! Just my opinion, Thanks for Posting Here.... MD.
