Something is wrong in that auction. Looking at Variety Vista they have 2 separate listings - One being the 1968-D DDR-001 FS-801 and then separately the 1968-D DDR-002.

A little scary when the auction is from a seller with 0 prior sales?

Well the real scary part is, after a little research, the DDR-002 is NOT the same variety as the FS-801, so the auction title is misleading. One of those uninformed bidders is going to be in for a surprise if they think they are bidding on the FS-801 variety.

How uninformed could you possibly be if you are bidding over $1000 for a quarter? There is a strong case to be made for correct listings, but an equally strong case to be made for educated acquisition.

I'm not sure that the DDR is super-evident from the sellers pics, but here is the best I can do with what they have in the listing:

The seller has 0 sales, that would end interest for me, immediately . Just another ebay scammer.

,,,my (un)educated guess is that this is a fraudulent auction ... analysis of the bidding shows a possible legit bidder at $2.00 (1st bidder...2000+feedback), but the remaining (3) bidders have very little feedback ... they would be accomplices in this scheme, whatever the end purpose ... Could very well be. A few shill bidders trying to draw in a real bidder happens a bit too often on ebay.

another possibility is that the "auction" is cover for illicit goods ... buy the item, get some drugs, a gun, whatever ...

A seller and two bidders with feedback of 2 or less.
