I'm happy to report that the expert on trail dies inspected this coin and confirmed it as the earliest known example of a trail die
--listed as 1869(URU)-4(cen)DEO-001T 180°

I think the date was on the hub in this case because the doubling is similar to the other devices.
Kinda interesting for a mid-19th C. coin. (The 1869-H was minted at Heaton/Birminghan UK).
