Definitely the FSPS...but that is me. FSPS coins are silver whereas ETY proof sets are not.

The mintage of the FSPS (Fine Silver proof set) is only 6,000 and comes in a beautiful wooden box, a great display. While the Proof sets typicially have a mintage of about 40,000 to 50,000 and more collectors chase these.
Both sets are proof coins so could be considered Non Circulating Legal Tender, but the normal proof set is made of the origional metals.
In either case these sets are set to rise in price in a couple years as they have the 1c & 2c and round 50c coins in them. (The young head of Queen Elisabeth on the $2 coin in the FSPS which makes this coin unique.)

toast,

Thank You for the mintage figures.I knew about the silver ones ( it's stated on their web site),but had no idea about the proofs.
Personally I love silver, but my wife likes the other ones as well...such a hard decision
I know this might be a stupid question, but do you think that the silver set would be available for another couple of months,or is it a fast sell usually ?

whoops, that should be a mintage figure of 6,500.

The Fine silver proof sets started in 2003 and each year these sets sells out. As this set has a few "special" features, I wouldn't want to wait too much longer to order one. The Normal proof sets are normally still available in September and October.

toast,

I think I've secured a Silver Set.I might have to get a Proof too ( just to keep the better half happy),but I don't think that will be a problem.

Most dealers will have 2006 proof sets at issue price till the end of the year. The FSPS has sold well so once it is a sellout expect a price hike.
