Why do you think those lines are MD?
Die gouges, maybe finger feeder damage or linear trail gas bubbles.

thought that maybe the coins maybe the coins got scrapped somehow. thanks to both for the feedback did look at the Feeder Finger Damage site. I can see where it might be Feeder Finger Damage.

Yes where there is more than one, Feeder Finger Damage seems most likely. If, however, you can depress these with the tip of a wooden toothpick, then it would be oddly aligned linear plating bubbles.

The "scratches" do not go over the letters meaning the die was damaged somehow, typically by the reasons stated above.
