I was buying a few coins to finish out my Jefferson Collection yesterday and I came across a 1942 S 5c Proof Like coin. The dealer asked if I really wanted a proof. I just let it go because I wanted to be sure in my knowledge that it wasn't a "Proof". A little research does provide very few examples of Proof Like strikes. The coin doesn't have the reflective surface of a proof, more like an SMS coin with absolute stunning proof like detail and definition on the reverse. I'd simply like to know your thoughts on possible value and desirability. I can't find any info or auction history. I don't have pics, just looking for advice. I'll update with pics when I purchase it later this week. Thanks.
