Posted on ebay. Listing 355501093026 I'm starting to search the markets for a 1948 but I'm not loving how similar this one is to the Chinese casts   |

It is a Chinese counterfeit.
They are not cast , they are struck with dies
You can even order them in silver if you are so inclined.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Haha, I reported the item and got the old heave-ho. "We looked into your report and didn't find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made by a customer service agent."

^ that's scary. Hopefully someone can get it removed. If ebay backs the seller now, what will happened when the buyer claims it's fake. Does ebay stand by their decision determining it is genuine and refuse buyer protection? |

Here is the sellers description. 1948 Canadian silver dollar we found this out in a huge lot of coins we have no way of authenticating it so it's going to go to the highest bidder
We will not accept returns if it's real good for you if it's not real, we do apologize but we are trying to tell you we have not authenticated this coin at all your gamble is as good as our gamble.
Sounds like they know it is not real and are covering it up. Regards Vic

Yeah, "huge lot of coins" and not a single other coin listed. I wonder if the hair growth oil was also in that huge lot.

We know and appreciate that once you are on it the listing will be gone, but it's always disheartening for us mere mortals, the buyers and sellers, to be absolutely ignored by ebay. Obviously their "automation" or AI can't identify counterfeit coins. "Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
