Any thoughts on this or help with its attribution would be appreciated. The 2nd S in states has a distinct upper curl. The D&I&M in DIME all have south west protruding secondary images. The word UNITED seems to be the least doubled of the devices. All the devices have the secondary image counterclockwise from the primary.

The only reference manual I have for this is the CherryPickers Guide and from that I'm not convinced of any of the 4 varieties. HELP!

Your images are unfortunately not going to help. They have to be taken with magnification to portray what you are seeing properly. At this distance it would take imagination to see what you are seeing, and even at that it would be impossible to detarmine whether the coin is a doubed die.
