Hi All and thank you in advance for your helpful answers. I have an 1883 Indian Head cent with what might be a stamping error? The "D" and "S" in "UNITED STATES" are very poor while the rest of the letters are clear and the 2 "A"s in AMERICA are legible while "MERIC" is near completely illegible. Note "OF" and "1883" are very clear. Is there anything special or collectible about this? Again, thank you for your insight.
Struck through grease? Huh...that's interesting. Would that need to be authenticated? I wonder what this coin be worth with this anomaly? Any ideas on either?
Struck Through Grease might get a dollar premium on a low grade common date coin like this on a good day, definitely not worth the grading. But good eye and keep searching.
Thank you all for the info! I'm in the process of educating myself as best I can. And I will be getting more involved in this forum - I see alot of education from you all so thanks!
