Hiya folks, I need help. I recently opened a bank roll of 1959-P Franklins, some nice FBL coins but likely not good enough to send off to get slabbed unless a variety.
When looking at a few of them more closely, I noticed that a few in the bunch have what appear to be a bump at the tip of the nose as well as the bridge of the nose, along with a partial "goiter" type clash at the neck. There is also a clash on the REV between the wing and bell (which lines up with the OBV).
If I were to send it for variety attribution to PCGS/NGC I don't think I would get the FS-401 Bugs designation because the clash under the nose isn't strong -- but what do you think? Tough to image well since the coin is bright.
I couldn't find it at the Franklin Lover site (although I do think it might be a 1959 II-d reflected at the bottom of the page here -
http://www.franklinlover.yolasite.c...1-and-2.php. It could also be the 1959-P "Die #3" represented here (but the photos are not available to check) -
http://goccf.com/t/105161 and presumably would have been added here -
http://www.franklinlover.yolasite.c...er%20Clashes (as the 1959 Die 3).
Help appreciated!
