Please post an end-on photo of the rim. My gut sense suggests this may be an early stage Dryer Coin. Aside from that, it appears the E in WE suffered a circulation ding.

Normal, circulated Large Date cent. No value above face value for it. The one to look for is the 1982 D Small Date copper cent. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...t-discovered

FYI- If the area below the "E" is raised, it could be a die chip or a plating blister on a zinc cent.

Can you give us the weight of the coin? A zinc cent will weigh 2.5 grams.
If you don't have a scale, you can make a "balance type scale" to compare your coin to a known zinc cent or copper cent. (A popsicle stick or ruler with a fulcrum under the center of it will work.)
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
