I was looking through my collection of copper cents and I discovered this one which I believe to be a Slight lamination Defect but I could be wrong. The area in question is within the black lines. Opinions are appreciated and thank you in advance

This is no annealing on a 1971-D Lincoln Cent. It is a solid alloy with no layers, unlike clad dimes, quarters, etc.

I don't know why I thought it was annealed.

I don't think that copper cent coin are annealed.
But I think this could be a lamination issue that did not crack open like we are used to seeing.
Or maybe small gas bubbles in the material.

Could be a Lamination that didn't flake maybe?

Food for thought. Potential die clash. I think I'm seeing the remnants of the Y in bay two. Thanks, Doug.
