Thank you all for your feedback! It's been many years since I worked on my large cent set, so I am relearning how to grade them and genuinely appreciate the comments and knowledge gained on CCF.

However, I am perplexed by the responses. I don't see any evidence of cleaning; the surfaces look fully original. It also appears to be a solid VF. The
Charlton Standard Catalog states for VF-20, "The central bands, jewels and pearls are worn away. The ear, beard to the right of the ear, moustache, eyebrow and ribbon bow all show wear and loss of detail." For a F-12, it says, "Detail on all the highest points have lost considerable detail. The central crown bands, with jewels and pearls of the crown are 50% worn," but in this example they are intact, outlined, and not worn away, although certainly weak. Again, I am learning and mean no criticism whatsoever. I'm just a little confused, as this appears to be a textbook VF.

Who thinks the coin needs to be photographed out of 2x2 holder?
In some circumstances I would agree with you, John, but in this case the photos are very similar to how the coin appears in hand. There is a slight glare at 2:00, but otherwise the mylar does not distract from the coin or impact its gradeability.
